Data & BI Project Manager

The Project Manager will be responsible for delivering a range of data insight and data solution projects both for external & internal stakeholders. Projects will involve bespoke solutions, BI applications and data insight tools across various cloud platforms often working with partners.

The Project Manager is responsible for efficiently planning the projects and delivering them within the agreed budget and timescale by collaborating with the cross-functional teams. The Project Manager must manage the stakeholder’s expectations and ensure that the delivered project meets or exceeds those expectations.

The role will involve managing a portfolio of Data and Analytics Solution implementation projects for various clients.

Core Responsibilities

  • Responsible for end-to-end management of strategic projects, covering initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure, with a focus on adhering to project objectives, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Efficiently plan projects, manage and forecast resources for project allocation
  • Act as a primary liaison between clients, project sponsors, and the delivery team, skilfully managing deliverables and responsibilities with diplomacy and tact.
  • Proactively manage project risks, escalate changes in risk profile, and able to formulate robust mitigation plans
  • Monitor progress and manage project scope throughout the project. Maintain and communicate accurate forecasts, project plans and status reports.
  • Accountable for tracking and analysing project performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Plays a key role in the PMO team, contributing to the implementation of project management tools, methodologies, and best practices to foster consistency and efficiency in project execution.

Skills and Requirements

  • Self-starter and must have several years of Project Management experience in SaaS, preferably in data analytics, BI or related field
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced business with enterprise clients, whilst retaining a focus on excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Self-organised, resilient and able to manage competing priorities and overcome challenges
  • Excellent MS Office skills including Project, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Proficient in Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable dealing with clients at all levels
  • Strong team ethic, leadership skills and responsibility
  • Experience working with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Fluency in English is essential.
  • A recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, Scrum Master, AgilePM to practitioner levels)
  • Good understanding of data protection laws such as GDPR
  • Technical understanding of web technologies (HTML, Javascript, Java etc.) and BI presentation tools (Power BI, Tableau etc.) is desirable
